On the phone: On the Full 18 home screen, tap Play a Round. It opens My Rounds: your rounds, any round you're invited to, and Organize a Round.

On the web: Open Rounds in the top bar, or choose Book Round in the menu to start a new one. On the dashboard, the Your scores card opens the same list.

Not sure which day works? Ask your group first. Each person answers I'm In, If Needed or Out for every date, and everyone you ask gets an email with a link to the poll. Anyone who hasn't voted gets a reminder about a day before voting closes.

On the web: Open Tee Time Polls in the menu and click New Poll. Add a title, one or more dates (each can have a tee time and a course), the partners to ask, and Voting Closes. Polls waiting for your answer are under Needs Your Vote. On your own poll, Nudge Non-Voters emails anyone who hasn't voted, and Close Poll ends it. When you're ready, click Organize a Round on the poll: if one date clearly leads, it fills in that date and adds everyone who said I'm In as already in; if there's a tie, you pick the date and the I'm In voters are invited as usual.

On the phone: In the Organize a Round form, or on My Rounds before you have any rounds, tap Not sure what day works? Run a quick poll first. Once the poll closes, Organize the round fills in the winning date, time and course; you pick the players again.

Give the date and a tee time, and the course if you know it (it can wait). Golf Sync sets up the round and rallies your group; book the tee time itself on the course's own site. A new round holds 4 people, counting you. To make room for more, edit the round: it can hold up to 20.

On the web: On Rounds, click + Organize a Round, fill in the form and the usernames you're inviting, then click Save & Invite My Group. New rounds start as Pending.

On the phone: Tap Organize a Round and tick the friends you want under Invite Partners. Already booked? Tick I've already booked this tee time and the round starts as locked in.

Everyone you invite gets an email, and the round shows up in their list marked You're invited. To add someone after you've saved, open the round and add them by their Golf Sync username with Add Player (Add Player by Username on the phone); it tells you if a username doesn't exist.

Not yet: The web's create form doesn't warn you about a username that doesn't exist: it skips it. After you save, check the Players list and add anyone missing with Add Player.

A friend who isn't on Golf Sync? Open the round and use Send Invite to email them, or Copy Invite Link to text a link (on the phone, Invite by Email and Share Invite Link). The person taps Join This Round and they're on the round, marked as in. An email invite is for one person; a share link works for anyone you send it to. Both last 7 days, and only while the round has room. Someone new to Golf Sync creates a free account from the invite, and comes straight back to join. Only the round's organizer can send invites.

Invited? You'll get an email, and the round is marked You're invited in your list. Open it and tap I'm In or Sit this one out. Said no and changed your mind? Tap Changed your mind? Join back in. Got an invite link instead? Tap Join This Round on it and you're in.

On the round, each player shows In, Out or Waiting, and their score once it's posted.

Under Scoring & format on the form (Tournament / scoring options on the phone), choose Individual (the default), Scramble, Best Ball, Alternate Shot or Match Play. Scramble and Alternate Shot share one team card; in Best Ball and Match Play each player enters their own card.

On a team format, open the round on the web and set the teams in its Teams card (the phone can't set teams). Put everyone who has said I'm In on a team. Anyone still waiting, or who said no, stays off the teams; if they say I'm In later, open the Teams card and save again with them on a team. Set teams before anyone scores: once a hole is scored, nobody new can join the round.

Open the round and use Edit (Edit Round Details on the phone) to change the course, date, tee time, how many players it holds, or the notes, until the round is completed or cancelled. If the day, time or course changes, everyone who's in gets an updated calendar invite. Anyone can add the round to their own calendar with Add to calendar.

New rounds show as Pending while your group comes together. When the day and course are set, lock it in so your group knows it's on.

On the web: Click It's Booked ✓ on the round; it then shows as Booked.

On the phone: Tap Lock it in on the round; it then shows as Confirmed.

Players who haven't answered show as Waiting. Only the round's organizer sees the reminder buttons: Remind next to a name (Nudge on the phone), and Nudge non-responders for everyone at once. They get an email and a message from you in Chat, with a way back to the round to answer. You can remind the same person once an hour. The confirmation tells you how each reminder went.

On an Individual round, type your total on the round and tap Post Score (Submit Total Score on the phone). Team formats don't take a total: use Enter Scorecard (Open Scorecard on the phone) and score hole by hole. For scanning a paper card and editing holes, see Scorecards.

On an Individual round, the round is marked complete as soon as anyone posts a total, and then nobody can be added, invited or reminded, so add everyone before that. Otherwise, the organizer finishes it with Complete Round (Mark as Completed on the phone, once the round is locked in).

On the web: While the round is booked, a leaderboard shows on the round; View fullscreen leaderboard keeps it open on its own page. It updates every few seconds while scores come in.

On the phone: Tap Live Leaderboard on the round; your row is marked.

Golf Sync only keeps track; no money moves through the app. The organizer can set what each player owes at any time: under a player, enter the amount and Set Dues, then Mark Paid when they pay you, or Waive to let them off. Players see what they owe on their own view of the round.

On the phone: Tap Set Dues under a player, type the amount, then Save; Mark Paid and Waive appear once an amount is set.

On the web: Playing for skins, a Nassau or closest to the pin? Add it under Games & Wagers on the round; Golf Sync works out the winners from the scores. The phone doesn't have this yet.

After a completed round, the players who were in it can tag each other with traits such as Fast pace, Great etiquette or Knows the rules, under Rate your playing partners (Rate your group on the phone). Tags show on a player once three partners have rated them.

Only the organizer can cancel. Open the round and choose Cancel Round: it's marked Cancelled, players who said I'm In get a calendar cancellation, and it moves under the Cancelled filter on everyone's rounds list. Dues and scores stay with it.

On the web: To remove a round entirely (a card scanned by mistake, say), use Delete on your Rounds list: it removes the round and its scores for everyone and can't be undone. The phone has no Delete.
