Data sources
Golf Sync's course information comes partly from open data, and some of what we show comes from other services. We're glad to credit them all here.
OpenStreetMap
Our golf course list, course locations and the hole maps in course view include data from OpenStreetMap. © OpenStreetMap contributors. This data is available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
OpenGolfAPI
Some course scorecards (par, handicap, slope, course rating and yardage) come from OpenGolfAPI. © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL 1.0) via OpenGolfAPI.
Google Maps
Some course suggestions in course search, and the place suggestions in location fields, come from Google Maps, and say so where they appear. Google Maps is a trademark of Google LLC.
Addresses and places
Some addresses and towns are placed on the map with Nominatim, OpenStreetMap's search service, and with U.S. Census Bureau place data and state boundaries, which are public domain.
Tournament listings
Tournament Center listings are gathered from organizers' and golf associations' public pages. Where a listing has its organizer's page, it links there for the details and registration.
Charity verification
We check a charity's tax-exempt status against the IRS list of organizations eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions (Publication 78), which is public domain.
Software
Golf Sync is built with open-source software. Each package, its license and its license text are on our open-source software page.
Requesting the data
Our course list and course scorecards combine this open data with our own. The combined databases are available under the ODbL. To request a copy, email support@golfsync.io and we'll send it in a machine-readable format.
