List your tournament

A free catalog listing, a highlight, and quotes from courses

Add your tournament

Many events are in the catalog already, because we build it from public sources, so search for yours first (see Already listed?). Adding one is free.

On the web: Open the tournament list (Tournaments in the Tournament Center's top bar) and press Add a tournament in the Upcoming Tournaments bar. You need the tournament's name and where it is: a 5-digit ZIP, or a city and state. Typing a ZIP fills in the city and state.

On the phone: In Discover tournaments, tap Add at the top. You need the name, the state, and a registration link, an organizer phone or a mail-in address.

Give the date too: a listing with no date is never shown to golfers, even once it's approved. The more you add (the course, the format, your registration link, a phone or email), the easier it is to find. Pick the format from the list (Scramble, Captain's Choice, Best Ball, Stroke Play and the rest); if yours isn't there, leave it blank. If you take entries by post, add the mailing address (there's a box for it on the website and in the app), and golfers see it instead of a dead Register button.

List an event free, above and below the list, opens the same form.

Sign in first

Sign in (it's free) before you submit. You can submit without an account, but then we can't email you when it goes live, you can't follow it in My Submissions, it earns you no contributor points, and you won't get our Monday email when golfers press Register on it. Signing in afterwards doesn't attach an earlier submission.

What happens after you submit

Every submission is checked before it appears. If you were signed in when you sent it, we email you when it's live, or with the reviewer's reason if it isn't accepted. A submission with a working registration link, a date and a location is the quickest to check. If your event's date passes before we review it, it's closed without an email.

On the web: Your submissions are under Your activity above the list (press it to open), in My Submissions, each marked In review, Live or Not accepted. It appears once you've submitted something while signed in. The phone app doesn't have it.

Already listed? Fix it rather than re-add it

Pick your state (or type your ZIP) so the list loads, then type your event's name in the search box. If a detail is wrong, suggest an edit: pick one detail, type the right value and send it, one suggestion per detail. A moderator checks it, and it keeps whatever traffic the listing has already earned. No account is needed.

On the web: Open the ⋮ menu on your listing and choose Suggest edit. You can fix the date, venue, city, format, team size, start method, entry fee and registration link.

On the phone: Tap your listing and choose Suggest an edit: date, venue, city, format, entry fee or registration link.

To change the name or the contact details, email support@golfsync.io.

Full or cancelled?

Sign in, then report the listing and tell us what changed: already booked (full), or not valid (cancelled or wrong). An explanation is required. To have a listing removed, email support@golfsync.io.

On the web: ⋮ menu › Report listing, then Already Booked or Invalid Listing.

On the phone: Tap the listing › Report a problem.

Feature your event

A free listing sits in the ordinary list. A featured one is pinned above the free listings with a Sponsored badge, so it's what golfers see first. There are two tiers, billed by the week:

  • Featured. Above the ordinary list.
  • Premium. The very top, above every Featured event.

On the website, events Golf Sync itself sponsors sit above every paid highlight. The form shows the total as you go.

The highlight stops at your event date, and you're billed only for the weeks it runs: pick 4 weeks for an event 15 days away and you pay for 3 (a part week counts as a week). No payment is taken in the form: you send a request, we switch the highlight on, and you get an email saying it's live, with its end date and the amount. The invoice follows separately. You need a free account to send the request.

On the web: Press Promote on your listing, or Promote your event above the list (on a narrow screen, Select your tournament at the top of the results). The form is titled Is this your event?: pick a tier and 1 to 6 weeks and press Claim & feature this event. The website asks you to sign in when you send it. Follow your requests under Your activity › My Sponsorships.

On the phone: Tap your listing and choose Promote this event; signed out, the app asks before it opens the form. Pick a tier and 1, 2, 4 or 6 weeks, and tap Request promotion.

Get quotes from golf courses

Haven't booked a course yet? Course Quotes sends your outing to courses near you, and they reply with itemized proposals. It's free, and you don't need an account. You answer one question at a time: the kind of outing, where and how far you'd travel, when, how many golfers, the format and your budget per player, the extras you want, and where the bids should go.

When you submit, you get a private link to your request: save it. Proposals appear on that page as they arrive. Where we don't yet have many courses nearby, our team contacts them for you and emails you within 3 business days. On the page you compare every bid side by side (the total per person, green fee, cart, food and beverage), message each course, and award the outing to one. Awarding is final: it declines the other bids and shares your contact details with the course you chose. You can also close the request there.

Lost the link? Use Find my request and we'll email it to you again.

Work out the numbers

Three free planning tools, no account needed. They share one scenario, so a number you change in one carries into the others:

  • Break-Even: four numbers in, and it tells you how many golfers cover your fixed costs and what a full field nets.
  • Budget Builder: every line of revenue and expense, with the running total updating as you type.
  • Profit Optimizer: practical ways to raise what your event nets, each with a dollar range and the effort and risk involved.
