Account Guide

Register & Log In

Create an account at the Register page with your name, email, username, and a password (at least 8 characters with one uppercase letter and one number). Log in any time with your email and password.

Password Security

Passwords expire after 90 days. When yours expires, you'll be prompted to change it before logging in again. You can also change your password at any time from the Change Password page.

Free Trial & Membership

Every new Golf Sync account starts with a 30-day free trial — full access to every feature with no credit card required. Accounts created during our launch period receive an extended trial through June 30, 2026. After your trial ends, subscribe on the Membership page to keep your access. Plans start at $9.99/month or $79.99/year. Your dashboard shows how many trial days remain.

Email Preferences

You can control which emails Golf Sync sends you. Go to Account Settings and scroll to the Email Preferences section. Toggle off 'Marketing & product updates' to stop receiving feature announcements and trial reminders. Transactional emails — such as round invites, payment receipts, and security alerts — are always sent regardless of this setting.

Privacy, Terms & Cookies

Golf Sync's Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy are available in the footer of every page. The Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights including data deletion. The Cookie Policy explains how we use essential cookies for authentication. You can delete your account at any time from Account Settings — all your data is permanently removed.

Promo Codes

Have a promo code? Enter it at checkout on the Membership page. A FREE code lets you upgrade without entering payment details. Percent and fixed-amount codes reduce the price shown at checkout.

Find & Add Playing Partners

Go to Playing Partners from the menu. Search for Golf Sync users by username or name (minimum 2 characters). Click Add Friend next to anyone in the results — the button immediately changes to a '✓ Pending' badge so you know the request is waiting on their response. They'll see it under Pending Requests and can accept or decline.

Suggestion Preferences (Distance + Handicap Range)

Golf Sync can recommend playing partners near you with a handicap close to yours. From Account Settings, set your preferred max distance (5 / 10 / 25 / 50 miles) and max stroke difference (±4 / ±8 / ±12 / Any) — recommended partners only show if they fall within both. You can opt out of friend suggestions entirely from the same section if you prefer to find people on your own.

Golfer Tags (Peer Ratings)

After every COMPLETED round, players can tag teammates with traits — Fast pace, Knows the rules, Welcoming to beginners, Good sport, Honest scorekeeper, etc. Tags are aggregated across rounds and shown publicly under your name on the friends list once you've been rated by enough different people (so a single grumpy rater can't define your reputation). View your own tags on your Account header. Tags can't be edited directly — they reflect what your playing partners have actually said about you.

My Scorecards (Round History)

View every scorecard you've saved at /my-scorecards (also linked from Account → Golf → My Scorecards). Each row shows course, date, tee played, gross, and vs-par. Tap any row to re-open the full scorecard editor and edit per-hole stats you may have skipped on the day.

Leagues

From Account → Golf → Leagues, browse public leagues, join by invite code, and view tournaments + pairings for leagues you're already a member of. See the Leagues guide for the full walkthrough.

Clubhouse Chat

You can message playing partners from the Clubhouse Chat page. Select a partner from the list and type your message. Unread message counts show as a badge on your dashboard.

Favorite Courses

Star any course on the Book a Round page to add it to your favorites. Starred courses appear in a Favorites section on your dashboard for quick access.

AI Booking Assistant

On the Book a Round page, the AI assistant can help you choose a course, understand what's available, and answer questions. Try prompts like "What courses are near Richmond, VA?" or "Find me a round for 4 players Saturday morning."

Reporting a User

If a user behaves inappropriately, use the Report button on the Playing Partners page next to their name. Choose a reason (Harassment, Inappropriate, Fake Account, or Other) and provide an explanation. Reports are reviewed by an admin.
