Hosted tournaments are set up with you: Golf Sync builds the event and gives you access. You run it from its console at golfsync.io/admin/hosted-tournaments/your-event/manage. Bookmark it: nothing on the dashboard links there. The tabs you'll use most: Setup (visibility, opening scoring, the leaderboard hold), Prices, Payments, Registrations (check-in and marking paid), Mark payments paid, Sponsor Tiers, Sponsors, Pairings, Teams, Course Setup, Contests, Print Pack, TV Setup and Audit.

On the phone: Account › Hosted Tournaments (shown only to hosted organizers) has Tee Sheet, Check-In with a running count and a warning for anyone unpaid, and Payments, where you mark players paid on the day.

Your event page stays in Preview until you switch it to Public: on the Setup tab, under Visibility, press Flip to PUBLIC. In Preview only the event's organizers and Golf Sync staff can see it. To add a co-organizer, email support@golfsync.io: only Golf Sync staff can give someone access.

Registrants pay the ways you switch on: card and bank transfer (ACH) online, or check by mail, invoice or PO, pay at the event and Venmo, which are recorded as pending until you mark them paid.

Card and bank transfer need your own Stripe account, connected to this event: press Connect Stripe on the Payments tab (once per event; a second event connects again). Until Stripe has approved the account to take payments, the registration form doesn't offer card or bank transfer at all. To offer bank transfer, tick Bank transfer (ACH) on the Payments tab and save; if it says bank transfers aren't on for your Stripe account yet, press Enable bank transfers. Card payments go to your event's own Stripe account, and Stripe's processing fee applies.

Raising money for a charity? Answer Who receives the money? on the Payments tab before you connect Stripe. It decides whether receipts can say a payment is tax-deductible, and once Stripe is connected you can't switch to or from "Our 501(c)(3) receives the money".

Marking payments. Check players in and mark them paid on the Registrations tab. To mark many paid from one deposit, use the Mark payments paid tab. Set prices on the Prices tab.

A registrant who started paying by card or bank transfer and didn't finish stays on Registrations as unpaid and gets no email from us. Use Send payment link on their row to email them a link to finish. If they pay you another way instead, press Mark paid on their row first, and only then cancel the unfinished payment in your Stripe dashboard: cancelling first makes Golf Sync delete their registration.

A card or bank-transfer registration saved without a Stripe payment ever starting (Stripe had an error, or bank transfers weren't on) is dropped from your headcount at once and deleted after 48 hours. It isn't kept for you to reconcile.

Build your tiers on the Sponsor Tiers tab, and sponsors sign up from your event page. They can attach a logo (up to 5 MB) as they sign up; if they don't, upload it for them on the Sponsors tab. If a tier includes player spots, the sponsor is emailed a link to name their players.

Each sponsor can have a QR code that either collects a name and email or sends people to the sponsor's website: Contact, QR & leads on the Sponsors tab shows it, with how many scans and leads it got. There's no download of the leads.

The sponsor recap emails itself the morning after the event, to every sponsor with a contact email on file. On the Sponsors tab, Preview recap shows it and Send recap sends it now: use it if a sponsor was added late or the automatic send didn't go (for example, the event date was wrong).

Open scoring. Scoring stays closed until you press Open scoring on the Setup tab. If something still needs fixing first, such as hole pars, the console tells you what. Players then sign in to the Golf Sync app, and their scorecard appears. Once cards exist, scoring can't be closed again.

Check-in. Press Check in on each player's row on the Registrations tab as they arrive (or use Check-In on the phone). You're warned about anyone unpaid, never blocked.

Pairings and teams. Build groups per flight on the Pairings tab. For team formats (scramble, best ball, alternate shot) the groups come from the Teams tab, so you keep one list.

Keeping the finish a surprise. Below Open scoring on the Setup tab you can hold the public leaderboard after a chosen hole (stroke play only). Players keep scoring and you still see the full board; everyone else sees standings only up to that hole until you release it.

Contests. On the Contests tab, plan the contests before the day (Plan (winner later)), then enter each winner and their measured distance as results come in (Record (with winner)). Distances are measured on the course with a tape; the app records and shows them, and winners appear on the public leaderboard. Each contest can carry a sponsor.

Before prizes. The Audit tab flags scores that were changed late or changed several times, so you can check them. It doesn't edit scores.

The Print Pack tab makes your signs from your event's real sponsors, holes and players: Registration Table Sign, Welcome Banner, Sponsor Wall, Hole Sponsor Signs, Contest Signs, Cart Signs, Tee Gift Tags, Wayfinding Signs, Check-In Purchases, the starter's Starting Holes & Teams, a Live Leaderboard QR and, after the event, a Results Recap.

Set up pairings, hole sponsors (on the Sponsors tab) and contests first: cart signs and tee tags need pairings, hole signs need hole assignments, and contest signs need contests. Download a sheet on its own, or tick the ones you want and press Download Print Pack for one PDF.

Set a short TV code on the TV Setup tab first, such as AUGUSTA-2026. Anyone can then open the live leaderboard on any TV or laptop browser at golfsync.io/tv/YOUR-CODE, with no sign-in and no app. The board rotates between the leaderboard and a sponsor spotlight and refreshes itself.

The TV Setup tab also makes a one-page card with the address and a QR code: print it, or send the pro shop the setup link, so the course can put the board up without calling you. Set the code before you print: without one, the card points at an address the TV can't open.
